Community Engagement Coordinator (18 hours per week) 12 month contract
Salary: £14,592 for 18 hours per week
We are looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to support our vision: enabling West Silvertown to be a vibrant and integrated community where ambitions are realised and friendships thrive.
This role will play a key role in engaging the wider community in the work of West Silvertown Foundation. They will be particularly involved in community engagement through the Britannia Village Hall redevelopment project, Britannia Village community garden, and coordinating groups of local people to organise community celebrations.
The Community Engagement Coordinator will be an outward facing role, meeting people, building relationships and developing partnerships. We are therefore seeking a motivated self-starter, able to take initiative, plan effectively and communicate confidently with people of all backgrounds.
How you work will be as important as what you do, and so you will be skilled in developing strengths based and collaborative approaches to increasing shared interests, capacity and resilience within our community. You will support individuals and groups to identify their strengths and develop their skills to benefit their neighbourhood. To achieve this you will need to have significant experience in and a passion for bringing varied and disparate community groups together.
We are looking for individuals with a ‘can-do’ attitude and ambition to work hard as part of a team to build something special in line with our vision. You will be joining a small but committed and embedded team who want to help to nurture and build sustainable communities where people choose to live.

This contract is for 12 months from the date of appointment, however we would hope to extend beyond this period . Any appointment will be subject to acceptable references and an enhanced DBS check.
