We are currently looking to recruit to 2 roles at WSF: a Fundraising and Partnership Officer and a Community Engagement Officer.
Fundraising and Partnerships Officer
Hours: 14.5 hours (2 days per week)
Salary: £21.95 per hour (£16,550 pa)
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and values‑driven Fundraising and Partnerships Officer to grow our income from trusts, foundations, corporates and individuals.
Working closely with the CEO, you will play a key role in enabling WSF’s strategic goals by securing sustainable funding, building strong external relationships, and demonstrating the impact of our work. This is a pivotal role for someone who combines strong fundraising expertise with a passion for community development.
About us:
West Silvertown Foundation (WSF) is a community-led organisation with a mission to “create space to belong in West Silvertown”, an area which is transient, socio-economically diverse and undergoing rapid regeneration (with over 15,000 new homes planned with a 15 minute walk of our centre in the next 15 years). We want to enable our community to connect and flourish through shared experiences, projects and activities. We often work with several members of a family at the same time through our projects: children and families, youth and adult support.
About you:
You will be a proactive self‑starter with a strong track record in fundraising and partnerships. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a small team.
Essential experience and skills:
- Proven success delivering income against set targets
- Demonstrable experience securing 5–6 figure grants from trusts and foundations
- Experience developing and managing stakeholder relationships
- Experience delivering individual donor fundraising programmes
- Strong financial, analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of prospect research and GDPR‑compliant practice
- Ability to work at least one day per week from our community centre office in London E16

Community Engagement Officer
Fixed-term - 12 months
Hours: 14 hours per week, which must include 12-2:30pm on a Thursday
Salary: £11,575.20 for 14 hours per week (£15.90 per hour)
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and community-focused Community Engagement Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in strengthening community connections, supporting vulnerable residents, and delivering inclusive programmes that make a meaningful impact.
Working closely with the Community Development Manager, you will lead on engagement activities, coordinate community events, support advocacy work, and help activate our community garden.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong, positive relationships with local residents and stakeholders.
- Increase engagement and participation in community activities.
- Organise trips, community meals, and celebrations as part of our Welcome Project for migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, and for larger community events for key faith and cultural events.
- Assist community members with form filling, signposting, and general advocacy support.
- Oversee the upkeep and activation of the community garden, encouraging participation and engagement.
