Support Us

Would you like to help our local community? Then please consider supporting us in one of the following ways!

Why donate to WSF?

Many people in West Silvertown tell us that our activities and services make a real difference to their lives.

  • Regular giving really helps give our charity financial security. It’s quick and easy to set up a direct debit and claim Gift Aid at the same time.
  • One-off gifts are also very welcome and much appreciated.

A donation of just:

  • £10 could cover one day’s expenses for a young person on work experience at our youth club summer scheme.
  • £20 could allow us to run a free creche alongside our ESOL class, allowing more people to access English lessons.
  • £30 could allow us to run a free yoga class for the community in our hall.

Thank you for your donation. No gift is too small and it will help us to build a stronger community!

Why volunteer for WSF?

We rely on volunteers to help us run the wide range of activities and services that we do. But we know that volunteering is about more than giving your time for free. It’s about helping your community while gaining new skills, making new friends – and hopefully having lots of fun too.

We’re currently looking for more volunteers in these areas:

Could you mentor a young person? We run a mentoring programme for year 10 students at Oasis Academy Silvertown.
No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided: you just need to be friendly, reliable, a good listener, and interested in getting to know a young person and supporting them to develop their skills and confidence.
We'll ask you to commit to being in school on a Wednesday morning, 0830-0930am, every week for 12 weeks, to spend time with the young person you're matched with. You'll probably also need to set aside about 30 minutes a week, at a time convenient to you, to prepare for the next week's session.
For further information please email alex@wsfroyaldocks.org

Email hello@wsfroyaldocks.org for more information.

English language project - Are you a native or near-native English speaker? Do you have an hour a week to help a local community member who is learning English, to practice through conversation? Trustees - WSF is overseen by an experienced board of trustees who come from a wide range of backgrounds. Please email helen@wsfroyaldocks.org for more information.
