Volunteer
We rely on volunteers to help us run the wide range of activities and services that we do. But we know that volunteering is about more than giving your time for free. It’s about helping your community while gaining new skills, making new friends – and hopefully having lots of fun too.
Volunteer with Youth, Children and Families
Under 5s programme - Do you enjoy working with young children? We have several activities a week for under 5s and their families, and need help with setting up, packing down and interacting with participants.
Email families@wsfroyaldocks.org for more information.
Youth project - Could you help us empower local young people by volunteering in a drop-in youth session to play games, or leading a skills-based workshop with local young people, or giving regular time to mentor a young person?
Email youth@wsfroyaldocks.org for more information.
Community Events - Are you available to help us run one-off community events? If yes, this could be the opportunity for you, whether it's running an activity, working behind the scenes and planning, we'd love to hear from you!
Email families@wsfroyaldocks.org for more information.
Volunteer with Adults
English language project - Are you a native or near-native English speaker? Do you have an hour a week to help a local community member who is learning English, to practice through conversation? We are also looking for volunteers who are interested in coming along and assisting with classes and/or local trips with English students. Email hello@wsfroyaldocks.org for more information.
Community Pantry – Do you want to support local people to access food and essentials in an affordable way? Our community pantry is open on a Thursday afternoon, and we couldn’t do it without our team of committed local volunteers. If you have time on Wednesdays and Thursdays and would like to help with organising shelves, accepting deliveries, and assisting community members with shopping, we would love to hear from you. We especially welcome volunteers that speak multiple languages to help us with translation.
Email hello@wsfroyaldocks.org for more information.
Skills-based volunteering
Do you have a particular skill or interest you'd like to share with us and your community? We appreciate local people giving their time and skills, from yoga teaching to supporting our marketing.
Email hello@wsfroyaldocks.org for more information.
Our charity is also overseen by a board of volunteer trustees with a range of backgrounds from finance to safeguarding. If you would like to find out more and see if there are currently any vacancies on our board, email helen@wsfroyaldocks.org.
If you’d like to volunteer with us, but these opportunities don't sound like the right fit for you, email hello@wsfroyaldocks.org to see if we can match your skills with our needs.
