Assistant Youth Worker (Internship)

Salary: £27,898pa (£14.80 per hour)

Hours: Full Time (36.25 hours per week)

Contract: 1-year fixed term

Start Date: March 2026

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about empowering young people and making a real difference in the West Silvertown community? West Silvertown Foundation (WSF) is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Youth Worker to join our team for a transformative one-year internship.

This career-launching opportunity is funded by the Jack Petchey Internship Programme. You will join a cohort of 18 other interns across London and Essex, gaining access to exclusive training, professional development workshops, mentorship, and a dedicated training bursary to fuel your personal growth.

The Role

As an Assistant Youth Worker, you will work as part of the Youth team to co-design, plan and deliver youth sessions and mentoring that empowers young people to feel connected and live to their full potential. You will deliver sessions across the community, including at Britannia Village Hall and Oasis Academy Silvertown.

2 references and an enhanced DBS will be required.

Closing date: Monday 2nd February

Proposed interview dates: w/c Monday 9th February

Planned start date: From 2nd March, candidates must be available to start by Monday 23rd March.
